Plastic tubs for dairy products, buckets, and plant pots can now be recycled, either at the recycling drop off centers, or in your weekly pickup by DM Disposal for City of Port Townsend residents. See this link for details.
And for Port Townsend residents, Spring Clean-Up Week has also been announced. This is great time to get rid of extra garbage and yard waste for no additional charge. Appliances will also be taken if placed at curb side during this one week clean up event. Any one appliance per household (refrigerator, freezer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, hot water heater, washer or dryer) will be picked up. Note that there is a $20 Freon, a very potent greenhouse gas, removal fee for refrigerators or freezers. This clean-up event will not only save you time and money, but also save you multiple fossil-fueled trips to the “waste transfer facility”. For details see the City of Port Townsend newsletter for March 2015.
