In the 2018 Jefferson County Greenhouse Gas Inventory what we consume (products and services) was shown to have a significant carbon footprint. Consciousness of the embedded energy in all materials leads to the three R’s :
- Reduce consumption of new materials
- Reuse what you already have
- Recycle what you no longer use

Washington Recycles: This Washington State Department of Ecology site allows you to locate recycling options within your area. You can specify the type of material and the distance you can travel. Reduce waste in landfills and return valuable materials back into productive use.
Jefferson County Solid Waste: This county page has great information on what recycling is accepted, yard debris collection, household hazardous waste, etc.
